Belvedere Community Centre update

Bexley news update

Age UK Bexley will temporarily take on the running of the Belvedere Community Centre from Saturday 1 March.

The change to the management of the Centre follows the decision taken by the Belvedere Community Forum to end their involvement with the Centre at the end of last month.

Age UK Bexley have a licence to run the centre for 90 days. After this time the management of the centre will have to be marketed to the community sector to allow other interested parties to express an interest in running the centre on a permanent basis.

Classes and events will continue to run as normal at the centre under the new management arrangement.

Cllr Brian Bishop, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing said:

“Our thanks go to Age UK Bexley for stepping in and taking over the management at short notice. Their involvement has meant that events and classes have been able to go ahead as usual.

I’d also like to thank the Belvedere Community Forum for the work they have done over the years at the Community Centre.”
