Bexley celebrates student success as 2024 exam results are published

Today marks a significant milestone as A-Level, AS-Level and T-Level results are published and our young people should be immensely proud of their achievements.

Bexley's School Improvement Team had the privilege of visiting school communities this morning for the 2024 examination results, sharing a pivotal moment in our students' lives with the dedicated teaching staff who have guided and supported them in achieving their goals.

Townley Grammar School in Bexley is celebrating excellent results this year, with improvements on last year’s achievements. Students have secured places at top universities and prestigious apprenticeships, reflecting their hard work and dedication.

At Cleeve Park, Executive Head Teacher, Alex O’Donnell expressed pride in the students' accomplishments:

I am extremely proud of the achievements of all our sixth form students. Once again, they have shown resilience and determination to achieve what they needed to pursue their next steps, whether that’s university, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce. Our sixth form is academically thriving and at the heart of our school. I wish all of those who leave us this year continued success."

Some of the highest achieving students at Cleeve Park include:

  • Nathan, who achieved AAA and will be studying Journalism at Sheffield University
  • James, who achieved AAB and has been offered a place at Cambridge to study Classics
  • Lucy, who achieved Distinction* AB and will be studying English at Nottingham
  • Hannah, who achieved A*BB and secured a degree apprenticeship in Accountancy at KPMG
  • Toby, who achieved three Distinctions on the Football Academy Sports Scholarship and started an apprenticeship with a Property Development company
  • Olly, a Football Academy scholar, who will be studying Sports Science at Loughborough

In terms of individual subject success:

  • Philosophy and Ethics achieved 50% A* to B
  • English achieved over 60% A*
  • The extended triple Sports Diploma saw students achieving high grades across all areas

Haberdashers’ Crayford Academy continues to excel, with year-on-year improvements. A 10% increase in A-Level results graded C and above and a 13% increase in vocational results graded merit or above from 2023. Many students have secured places at excellent universities, such as Leicester and Plymouth, while others embark on apprenticeships with organisations like Amazon and the Metropolitan Police.

Haberdashers’ will also be welcoming their Deputy Head Girl, Tilly, into their staff team as she begins her journey into teacher training — a testament to her long journey with the school, from nursery to sixth form, truly embodying the school’s ‘3 to forever’ ethos.

Individual success stories from Haberdashers’ Crayford Academy include:

  • Michaela, who achieved D*D*D* in Health and Social Care
  • Khalis, who achieved a B in Sociology, D* in Health and Social Care and a D in Business Studies is heading to Kent University to study Accounting and Finance
  • Oluwafolakemi, who achieved an A in Maths, an A in Physics, and a D* in IT and is set to study Science and Mathematics at The University of Manchester
