The London Borough of Bexley is asking residents to take part in a new survey about local parks and green spaces. The survey will help the Council learn how these spaces are used and find ways to improve them to boost health and wellbeing across the borough.
The findings will support the Council in developing strategies that promote healthier lifestyles and improve both mental and physical wellbeing as part of a broader effort to tackle health disparities and support Bexley’s diverse communities.
Cllr Melvin Seymour, Cabinet Member for Adults Services, said:
“This survey is a key part of our commitment to improving public health across Bexley. By understanding how our parks and green spaces are used and identifying any barriers that residents face, we can make these spaces more accessible, enjoyable and beneficial for all. We are excited to see how the feedback will help shape our future strategies for reducing health inequalities.”
Cllr Richard Diment, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said:
“Parks and green spaces play a vital role in promoting mental and physical wellbeing and we want to ensure that they are accessible and welcoming for everyone. This survey is an important step in ensuring our green spaces work for the whole community.”
The survey will be hosted on the Ask Bexley platform and will be open from 18 November to 18 December 2024.
Residents can have their say by visiting the Ask Bexley website.
This project reflects the Council’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of residents. Through this initiative, the Council aims to harness the potential of parks and green spaces to promote healthier lifestyles and address health inequalities across the borough.
