Young people from Bexley who received a team medal at this year’s London Youth Games were invited to a special celebration event last week (5 December).
The Bexley’s medal winning teams included:
- Kayak Slalom – second place
- Tennis – second place
- Girls Hockey – third place
- Boys Judo – third place
More than 200 competitors from over 50 different local schools represented Bexley; supported by 50 hard-working Team Managers, Coaches and Volunteers.
This year 21 Bexley teams entered the games across 16 different sports, with 12 teams finishing in the top 10.
Cllr Richard Diment, Cabinet Member for Place, joined Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Ahmet Dourmoush and Mayoress Mrs Elmaz Dourmoush at the event.
The Mayor hosted the celebration that was organised by the Council’s Sports and Leisure Team.

It was great to be able to join these very talented young people who had represented the borough over the summer as well as their team managers and coaches. My congratulations go to them all for their success in the games.”
The London Youth Games is an annual, multi-sport event where young people from across all 33 London Boroughs compete against each other.
