Members of Bexley’s Children’s Services teams got together last week (3 May) at a very special event to celebrate their recent ‘outstanding’ Ofsted report.
The Ofsted decision following the inspection in February this year made Bexley only the second local authority in the country to have achieved two successive findings of outstanding under the current Ofsted framework.
Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Philip Read said:
It was only right that we said a massive ‘thank you’ to all the staff involved in helping us achieve our outstanding report. We know how hard our teams work every day to help support our children, young people and families. My sincere thanks go to them all for everything they do for our residents to help make Bexley even better. “
Director of Children’s Services, Stephen Kitchman said:
We have an excellent team here in Bexley, who work closely together in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Ofsted picked that up on their visit and I’m extremely proud of the way they go the extra mile for everyone they work with.”
The celebration included entertainment from some of the borough’s looked after young people and children from All the Arts Theatre School.
