Renowned author and illustrator Clara Vulliamy is hosting the free session from 2.30pm on Tuesday 29 August at the Central Library in Bexleyheath.
During the session Clara introduces Eva, Simone and Ash: best friends, budding reporters, and the stars of a delightful new book series ‘The Dog Squad: The Newshound’. Clara will also talk about her role as an author-illustrator, plus help children create their own newspaper, and learn how to solve a mystery.
The read-along, draw-along and mini creative writing session will last 40 minutes and is appropriate for children aged 6 to 10 years. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
After the session, Clara will be available for another 30 minutes to sign copies of her books, which can also be purchased on the day.
Clara is also the author of the popular ‘Marshmallow Pie’ and ‘Dotty Detective’ books.
Clara Vulliamy was born in London and studied at Chelsea School of Art, The Ruskin and the Royal Academy. She is the daughter of the celebrated author-illustrator Shirley Hughes and began illustrating picture books when she had her own children.
