The London Borough of Bexley and the NHS South East London Integrated Care Board have today (23 April) published the SEND local area partnership priority action plan.
The plan outlines the actions we will take to make the required improvements in response to Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission’s Inspection report of SEND Partnership services. A draft plan was submitted to Ofsted on 28 March and was approved on 16 April.
The Priority Action Plan sets out what will be achieved across three priority action areas:
- preparing young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities for Adulthood
- ensuring all of the Education, Health and Care Plans we issue are of good quality and ensuring they are reviewed and amended, if required, in a timely way
- reviewing the joint commissioning arrangements we have for Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy to ensure that all children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities have access to the therapy they have been assessed as needing
The Local Area SEND Partnership is committed to meeting the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and believes the plan we have in place will achieve the improvements required.
The Bexley Local Area Partnership comprises a range of organisations, with the London Borough of Bexley and South East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) responsible for planning and commissioning relevant services.
The partnership will continue to work with the Department for Education and NHS England on prioritising actions to secure immediate improvement for children and young people with SEND and their families.
Parents and carers can sign up to the Bexley Local Offer for additional support.
