Erith Library is set to reopen following a period of closure due to safety concerns linked to the ongoing works on the building that the library is within.
It is anticipated that the library will reopen on Thursday 14 March subject to the completion of the final works that are necessary to ensure the library is safe for customers.
While the library was closed, Crayford Library has been open for two extra days per week. Crayford Library will revert to its standard opening times from next week (Monday 4 March) so that staff can return to Erith Library to prepare for its reopening.
While the library will be safe to resume public opening on 14 March, there will still be works taking place to the building. These are being undertaken by Hexagon Housing who are responsible for the structure. Some parts of the library may be temporarily unavailable in the short term as a result of these works.
The Council is working closely with Hexagon to mitigate the impact of these works on the library and to ensure that once the works are complete efforts are made to make good the affected areas.
