Essential drainage works will take place on Erith Road, Bexleyheath (DA8 3NJ), from Monday 23 September until Friday 4 October.
The works will take place along Erith Road to the South of the Colyers Lane roundabout in front of numbers 414 to 406 and are needed to deal with a local flooding issue as a part of the Flood Risk Management programme. Repairs will be carried out to two existing road gullies at the bus stop and outside number 406 and a third gully will be installed outside number 412 to assist with removing surface water.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place during off-peak periods 9:30am to 3:30pm and this will cause delays.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journey when the traffic lights are in use.
Pedestrian use of the footway will be maintained as much as possible although there will be periods when pedestrians are moved onto the carriageway, protected by the traffic lights, to allow work on the footway.
The local bus stops in both directions will be suspended with the nearest alternative bus stops signposted. To find more information on buses, visit the TfL website.
Access to residential properties will be maintained but there may be short delays. Residents are asked to co-operate with any directions given by site personnel. Please approach the contractor’s site personnel if there are any issues regarding access to properties.
London Borough of Bexley apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused by these essential works. The construction team can be contacted on 0208 303 7777. Please ask to speak with a member of the Flood Risk Management team. Alternatively, email EngineeringServices@bexley.gov.uk
