Saturday 12 to Saturday 19 October is National Hate Crime Awareness Week.
The focus of the week is about raising awareness of hate crime, where to report it and how to get help. Hate crime can have a devastating impact on victims and their communities.
Leader of the London Borough of Bexley, Cllr Baroness O’Neill of Bexley OBE said:
Hate Crime Awareness Week is an opportunity to remind ourselves and our residents that hate and discrimination is hurtful and harmful, not just to the victim, but to our whole community."
Along with our partners, we take hate crime extremely seriously. Bexley is a safe and welcoming borough and we will continue to work to keep it that way."
As part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2024 Bexley’s Community Safety Partnership members will be out and about in the borough.
Activity during the week includes:
- an information stand in Crayford Sainsbury’s on Saturday 12 October, 9am to 12pm
- an information stand in Bexleyheath Mall on Thursday 17 October, 10am to 1pm
- libraries book displays all week
