The Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 28) Traffic Order 2024

Temporary Restriction of Vehicular Traffic Order 2024

Sandringham Drive, Welling Way, Welling - Notice of Intention

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that, to enable Gas mains replacement works by JDT Utilities on behalf of Southern Gas Networks they intend to make an Order the effects of which will be the introduction of:
    • Prohibition of vehicular traffic (road closure) in Sandringham Drive, Welling for the entire length
    • No waiting no loading (parking restrictions) as detailed in schedule one of this order.
          Restrictions to be removed when not in use.
  2. The Order will come into effect on 23 August 2024 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 6 weeks
  3. Whilst the works are in progress localised diversions will be signposted 
  4. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works
  5. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Hurst Road, Bexley - Notice of Making an Order

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that an order has been made, to enable Gas Mains Replacement works by  JDT Utilities on behalf of Southern Gas Networks, the effects of which will be the introduction of: 
    • Prohibition of traffic on Salisbury Road junction Manor Way, Bexley 
    • Prohibition of traffic on Hurst Road from Parkhill Road to Penhill Road, Bexley preventing egress and ingress on all the following side roads
    • Parkwood Road, Woodstock Road, Grangewood Road, Camden Road, Hengrove Court, Hurstwood Avenue, Selborne Avenue, Dorchester Avenue, Crofton Avenue, Shirley Avenue, Eynsford Crescent, Stanstead Crescent, Carisbrook Avenue, Esher Close, Valentine Avenue, Hurst Springs, Glenhurst Avenue, Manor Way, Bexley
  2. The Order will come into effect on 15 August 2024 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 6 weeks.
  3. Whilst the works are in progress localised diversions will be sign posted as and when required.
  4.  Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
  5. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

The Green, Church Road, Church Avenue, Sidcup - Notice of Making an Order

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that an order has been made, to enable mains replacement works by Morrisons Water Services on behalf of Thames Water, the effects of which will be the introduction of:
    • A prohibition of traffic (road closure) in The Green from Sidcup Place to Grassington Road, and Chislehurst Road, Sidcup
    • A prohibition of traffic (road closure) in Church Road from High Street to Grassington Road, Sidcup
    • A prohibition of traffic (road closure) in Church Avenue at the junction with The Green to the emergency barrier, Sidcup
    • Removal of the no entry restriction and one way restriction allowing two way traffic in Sidcup Place, Sidcup for the duration of these works
    • No Waiting no loading (parking restrictions) on The Green, Church Avenue and Church Road
    • Suspension of double and single yellow lines on Church Road, Church Avenue and The Green, Sidcup whilst the road is closed to allow works to take place.
  2. The Order will come into effect on 15 August 2024  and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 6 weeks. 
  3. Whilst the works are in progress alternative routes will be provided via,
    • Sidcup Hill – Cray Road – A20 Sidcup By Pass – Chislehurst Road and reverse
    • Elm Road – High Street and reverse
  4. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
  5. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Rectory Close, Crayford - Notice of Making an Order

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that an order has been made, to enable Highway improvement works by JB Riney on behalf of London Borough of Bexley, the effects of which will be the introduction of:
    • Prohibition of traffic (road closure) in Rectory Close from the junction with Iron Mill Lane to the end of Rectory Close, Crayford
    • No waiting no loading (parking restrictions) in Rectory Close from the junction with Iron Mill Lane to the end of Rectory Close, Crayford
  2. The Order will come into effect on 19 August 2024 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 4 days.
  3. Whilst the works are in progress, 
    • Access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.
  4. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
  5. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that an order has been made, to enable Highway improvement works by JB Riney on behalf of London Borough of Bexley, the effects of which will be the introduction of: 
    • Prohibition of traffic (road closure) from the side of number 5 to the side of number 21 Hailey Road, Erith
    • No waiting no loading (parking restrictions) from the side of number 5 to the side of number 21 Hailey Road, Erith
  2. The Order will come into effect on 19 August 2024 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 5 nights.
  3. Whilst the works are in progress, 
    • Access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.
  4. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.
  5. The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  1. The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that an order has been made, to enable Highway improvement works by JB Riney on behalf of London Borough of Bexley, the effects of which will be the introduction of: 
    • Prohibition of traffic (road closure) for the entire length of Glendale Way, Thamesmead
    • No waiting no loading (parking restrictions) for the entire length of Glendale Way, Thamesmead 
  2. The Order will come into effect on 15 August 2024 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 2 days.
  3. Whilst the works are in progress 
    • Access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles. 
  4. Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.

The Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 28) Traffic Order 2024

  1.  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley have on 12 August 2024 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  2. The general effect of the Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No 28) Traffic Order 2024 would be to:
    1. Introduce new ‘At any time’ no waiting restrictions in parts of: - Bedonwell Road, Bexleyheath and Hurst Road.
    2. Replace part of the existing ‘Mon to Fri, 10am to 11am’ waiting restrictions with ‘At any time’ no waiting restrictions in parts of: - Hurst Road, Bexley.
    3. Replace part of the existing ‘Mon to Fri, 8am to 6:30pm’ waiting restrictions with ‘At any time’ no waiting restrictions in parts of: - Bedonwell Road, Bexleyheath.
  3. Copies of the Order, the corresponding Parent Order (and the Orders that have amended that Order); the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and plans which indicate the length of roads to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Contact Centre, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7AT.

Persons desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the day on which the Order were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court
