Contact Centre
All council offices will be closed on bank holidays. Normal operations will resume on the following day at 8am.
Our Contact Centre phone lines will be closed over the bank holiday, but Out of Hours Emergencies can still be reported using the normal Contact Centre number 020 8303 7777 as this will route directly to the out of hours service.
Textile recycling
Spring is a time of year when we venture into our wardrobes and begin the cleanout. TRAID now offer a free home collection service in Bexley, so it’s perfect if you have lots of clothes to donate in one go.
This service allows you to book a collection on a day that suits you.
Parking and traffic enforcement arrangements
If you are driving or looking for a place to park over the Bank Holidays, please be aware of the restrictions/arrangements that will be in place.
Reuse and Recycling Centres
The Thames Road, Crayford and Maidstone Road, Foots Cray, will be open 7.30am to 4pm.
Please note: Foots Cray is closed on Wednesdays.
Find your nearest recycling centre
Our mini recycling centres throughout the borough are particularly busy over the holiday periods. If the banks are full, please take your recycling home. You may be fined if waste or recycling is fly-tipped around the banks.
Library opening hours
Bexley Libraries will be closed on Monday 5 May and Monday 26 May.
Please check with community-run Libraries as they will make their own arrangements.
