From Tuesday 29 August 2023, Transport for London (TfL) expanded their ULEZ across all other London boroughs, including Bexley.

The ULEZ operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year, except Christmas Day (25 December).

If your vehicle doesn't meet the ULEZ emission standards and isn't exempt, you will be required to pay a £12.50 daily charge to drive inside the zone.

For further details on the scheme visit the Mayor of London website.

This applies to:

  • cars
  • motorcycles
  • vans
  • specialist vehicles (up to and including 3.5 tonnes)
  • minibuses (up to and including 5 tonnes)

If your car is non-compliant you will need to pay the £12.50 charge even if you are a Bexley resident making a short trip inside the ULEZ. You will not need to pay the ULEZ charge if you are parked inside the zone and do not move your car.

Scrappage scheme

The Mayor of London has a scrappage scheme providing financial assistance to help London residents scrap their vehicles if they do not meet ULEZ standards to prepare for the expansion of ULEZ across all London boroughs.

Check the TfL website to see if your vehicle is eligible, how much financial assistance you could receive and how to apply.

Enquiries

All enquiries related to ULEZ and the equipment on the streets should be made to TfL on 0343 222 2222 (open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm).

Our response to the ULEZ expansion
