Memorials - new
All burial and cremated remains plots are permitted to have a memorial.
The following options are available depending on your cemetery and plot:
- full memorial/ headstone and kerb set
- lawn memorial
- vase
- ashes tablet
- plaque
Memorials for the Garden of Remembrance plots and sanctum vaults must be ordered via the Cemeteries Office at cemeteries@bexley.gov.uk. All other areas can be ordered via your nominated Memorial Stone Mason, where sizing, material and design restrictions must be adhered to.
Time restrictions
If you are having a full memorial, then this can be fitted no less than 12 months after the date of the most recent burial. For lawn memorials, no less than 6 months and cremated remains plots can vary from immediately to no less than 3 months, depending on the cemetery.
Grave owner permission
If a plot is leased, it is necessary to obtain the grave owner’s permission before fitting a memorial. Memorials will not be permitted without this.
