Are you eligible for the Warm Homes: Local Grant?
The Warm Homes: Local Grant is a government initiative to improve energy efficiency and reducing energy bills in low-income households across England.
Successful applicants will receive home upgrades such as insulation, solar panels and heat pumps to reduce their energy bills. At Bexley, we are strongly committed to helping our residents reduce their living costs, and to protecting our environment.
The scheme is due to start in April 2025 and is expected to run for 3 to 5 years.
The London Borough of Bexley is partnering with 30 other London boroughs, the City of London Corporation and 6 housing associations in a London Consortium, led by the Greater London Authority and London Councils. We will be working together to deliver the Warm Homes: Local Grant in an efficient and effective way.
What are the eligibility criteria?
We are seeking to support residents who:
- own their home
- have a gross household income of £36,000 per year or less OR live in a certain postcodes OR are in receipt of any financial aid
- live in a home with a low energy rating
- and live in a property that is an existing domestic dwelling (rather than a new build or self-built property)
How can I apply?
The scheme has not yet opened for applications. If you would like to register your interest, fill in the survey on our Ask Bexley platform, and we will inform you when the scheme opens.
At Bexley, we aim to take practical action to address climate change, working with our communities to protect our environment.
Our homes make up 38% of carbon emissions in our Borough – through Warm Homes: Local Grant, we can help reduce this. For more information about the work Bexley is doing to look after the environment, see our Climate Change Statement and Action Plan.

Not only is it good for the environment, but this scheme can increase the energy efficiency of your home, helping to managing energy bills. Everyone is being affected by the rising cost of living, and we know that some people are finding it difficult to make ends meet. If you are worried about energy bills, you can find support on our energy bills page.
