Danson Park Adventures offers a wide variety of water and land-based activities and courses perfect for anyone over the age of 8 with any skill level.
Public Rowing Boats and little Pedalos available for hire
Our centre has qualified instructors for all activities on offer. All our instructors are enhanced DBS checked. All adventurous equipment is provided, and changing facilities are available. We recommend that you bring a change of clothes and a towel for our activities and courses.

Danson Park Adventures - Terms and conditions
General Terms
No booking is confirmed until payment is made in full, and confirmation sent out in writing via email by Danson Park Adventures.
Danson Park Adventures reserves the right to run alternative activity options based on the weather conditions on the day, this could be land based or on the water.
Cancellation policy
- courses will run regardless of weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by Danson Park Adventures; refunds will not be given in the event of bad weather except if sessions have been cancelled by Danson Park Adventures
- cancellation for a refund must be made 2 weeks advance of the activity date and received in writing by either email or post
- if you are unable to attend your session you will not be refunded, nor your session rescheduled
- courses will only run if sufficient numbers are booked, a full refund will be given if a course is cancelled by the Council, you will be contacted in advance of the course start date with the options available at that time
Refunds
- no refunds will be given unless for medical reasons supported by a doctor’s certificate, to be received within the time scales of the course and will be at the Council’s discretion
- in the event of illness or injury, no refunds will be given for whole activity
Transfers
- it is not possible to transfer a course place from one individual to another
- it is not possible to transfer a place from one day to another, unless we have at least 2 weeks notice
Blocked Sessions bookings
- all standard terms and conditions apply
- our normal cancellation policy applies to the date of first session of the block
- once a block has begun any missed sessions will not be refunded or transferred.
How to book
- check our availability via watersports@bexley.gov.uk or call us on 020 8303 2828
- fill in the booking form provided by our staff and send back to the respective email address
- a member of staff will get back to you with our availability
- once payment has been received your booking will be confirmed and you will be sent a booking confirmation email.
If the booking is four weeks or more before the date of your activity you can either pay a 50% deposit or the full amount.
If the booking is less than four weeks before the activity start dates the full amount must be paid.
Payment can be made by card.
Booking Conditions
By making a booking or taking part in an activity at Danson Park Adventures you have agreed to these terms:
- applications are accepted on a first come first served basis
- bookings will only be confirmed once full payment has been received
- whilst every effort is made to stage each course as advertised, we reserve the right to cancel any activity. In the unlikely case an activity is cancelled a full refund or place on another course will be offered subject to availability. Courses will only be cancelled if conditions are deemed unsafe by the most senior member of staff on site or due to staffing issues
We do not provide any cancellation insurance cover, personal accident or personal liability insurance cover, nor do we accept any responsibility for any items lost or stolen whilst at the centre.
Please note that photographs may be taken during activities. If highlighted on a participant’s card you do not wish to have your photo taken, then photos will not be taken. Photos are used for London Borough of Bexley marketing and accreditation purposes.
In making this booking you are agreeing to involve the participant(s) in Danson Park Adventures activities where the participant may get wet and be involved in physically challenging activities.
The participant(s) must:
- be a minimum age of eight years old
- be water confident
- comply with all members of staff
- demonstrate suitable behaviour towards staff and others
- be willing where possible to assist with the handling of equipment
- be willing to mix with large groups of varying ages and abilities
Whilst being physically fit is a benefit, it is not a must. All participants should consult a doctor prior to booking if they have any concerns and discuss any additional support needs with centre staff before the session is booked before taking part in any activity.
Risk Statement
It must be recognised that activities taking place at Danson Adventures is by their nature an unpredictable and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in the activities such as Sailing, kayaking, Canoeing, Bellboating, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Rowing, Powerboating, Bouldering and Orienteering, you agree and acknowledge that:
- You are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sports carried out at Danson Adventures and you accept responsibility exposing yourself/your group to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the activities
- You/your group will comply at all times with the instructions of the Danson Adventures staff particularly with regard to instructions for boarding and leaving craft and/or launching and recovery (as relevant), using the equipment on the boats and handling equipment, wearing of buoyancy aids, lifejackets and the wearing of suitable, clothing in particular footwear for the conditions
- You accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by your/groups own negligence.
- You will not participate in activities at Danson Adventures whilst your/the group’s ability to take part is impaired by alcohol, drugs or whilst otherwise unfit to participate.
Weather conditions may vary; however the centres activities do take place in all-weather conditions except thunder and lightning. If activities need to change at short notice an alternative shall be provided.
Please note participation in any course at the centre does not mean a guaranteed pass in the relevant award.
Bookings can only be transferred to a different date if sufficient notice is given and will be subject to availability.
Cancellations must be in writing and any refunds given will be on the following basis:
- the fee cannot be refunded for any reason once the course has started
- if less than two weeks’ notice – No refund
- between two-four weeks’ notice – 50% refund
- more than four weeks’ notice – Full refund
