Textile recycling
We have partnered with clothing reuse charity TRAID, to offer an additional way to pass clothes on for free using their home collection scheme.
TRAID raise money to turn clothes waste into funds and resources to reduce the environmental and social impacts of our clothes and fund international development projects to improve conditions and working practices in the textile industry.
What can you donate?
You can donate:
- clothes
- shoes
- a small bag of broken small/medium-sized electrical items such as kettles and toasters
- accessories you no longer wear
This service is open to all Bexley households, including flats, and allows you to book a collection on a day that suits you.
The service is suitable for residents who have a bundle of clothes to donate at one time.
Any clothing that isn’t good enough to be passed on can still be given a new life via clothing banks. Please ensure textiles are not dirty, greasy or oil stained before recycling.
Booking collections
You can book a collection for a minimum of 1 large bag or 3 small bags of clothing, but TRAID encourages residents to donate more than the minimum amount, as this helps the charity to deliver a more efficient service.
You can book a free online collection below or by calling 020 8733 2595.
A collector in a branded TRAID van will collect the donations from you on the agreed day.
