If you’re a foster carer who may be thinking about transferring over to another organisation, we offer a welcoming and supportive environment through our Fostering Together initiative.

Bexley’s Fostering Together program is designed to make fostering easier, more rewarding and focused on the well-being of both carers and children, with a seamless transfer process.

Benefits of transferring to Bexley:

  • Fostering Together Communities: Bexley has created seven close-knit fostering communities. These communities act like an extended family, providing a supportive environment for children while reducing the paperwork and stress for carers.
     
  • Tailored Support: Bexley Foster Carers have access to experienced foster carers who offer one-on-one mentorship, practical advice, and extra support, whether it’s helping with day-to-day tasks or providing respite care.
     
  • Specialist Communities: Bexley has launched a specialist community for children under seven. We are also looking for experienced carers to help develop more communities, focusing on teenagers, parent and child and emergency placements.
  • Carer Well-being: fostering Together helps reduce isolation by connecting carers with a strong support network, improving their well-being and making them feel valued. This leads to happier carers and more stable placements for children.
     
  • Support for New Carers: new foster carers join our communities where they are guided through the early stages of fostering. This peer support helps build confidence and eases the transition into fostering.
     
  • Proven Results: since the launch of Fostering Together, Bexley has seen improved placement stability and higher retention rates among foster carers.
