Submit a complaint
We want to deliver good-value, high-quality services for residents, businesses, and visitors — efficiently and helpfully.
Complaints help us improve. We see them as valuable feedback and use what we learn to make our services better.
What you can complain about
You can submit a complaint if you are not happy with our quality of work. For example:
- a service we delivered
- a service we didn't deliver but should have
- the standard of work provided by us or one of our contractors
What you can not complain about
Our complaints procedure doesn't cover:
- day to day service requests or reporting faults, such as a faulty street light
- where an appeal procedure already exists to deal with the issue, such as parking ticket appeals
- complaints about a service from the Adult's or Children's services departments. There are statutory complaints procedures
- complaints about a councillor
- complaints about schools. Please speak directly to the school
- if you have had an accident with a council owned vehicle
If we can't investigate your complaint, we will let you know and give you further guidance.
