Notification of intention to start work
In accordance with Regulation 16, anyone required by Regulation 12 to give a building notice or an application for building control approval with full plans must notify the Local Authority before starting the work. The work may start only after at least two working days have passed following notification to the Local Authority.
The two working day period starts the next working day after you have submitted your notification of intention to start building work.
You can notify the Local Authority of your intention to start building work by completing the below form.
Please do not use this form until you have a valid building notice or application for building control approval with full plans.

For the construction of a new building or an extension, when strip or pad foundations have been excavated or piles have been installed.
You must also notify us once the works have 'commenced'
In accordance with Regulation 16(3C), the person carrying out the work must also give the Local Authority notice about the 'commencement of works’ by completing the below form.
