A UK parliamentary general election will take place on Thursday 4 July 2024.

Bexley is responsible for two parliamentary constituencies:

  • Bexleyheath and Crayford
  • Old Bexley and Sidcup

The London Borough of Greenwich is responsible for the Erith and Thamesmead constituency for both residents of Bexley and Greenwich. The candidates for the constituency can be found under the Official notices section at the bottom of this page.

Important dates:

Register to vote

The deadline to register to vote at the elections is midnight on Tuesday 18 June 2024. You can register to vote online at GOV.UK in less than five minutes. You will need to have your National Insurance number to hand.

Voting by post

The deadline to apply to vote by post is 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024. You can now apply for a postal vote online at GOV.UK.

Poll cards

Official poll cards will be delivered to all registered electors from 6 June 2024. Details of your designated polling station will be found on the poll card.

If you will be away (Proxy voting)

If you are going to be away on election day and wish to vote by post please note that postal votes will be sent out the week of 20 June if you are registered as a postal voter at 7 June 2024. If your postal vote application is approved after 7 June, your postal vote pack will be sent on 24 June.

If instead you would like to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf at your polling station the deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June. You can now apply for a proxy vote online at GOV.UK.
