Crayford Community Group is made up of volunteers who live or work in the area – including a number of local small business owners. They first began in May 2023 and have recently become a Community Interest Company (CIC).
The group look to plan regular events in Crayford for the local residents, support local businesses and charities, provide free activities for children and families and to promote Crayford as a great place to shop, eat, drink and celebrate.
The most recent event organised by the Group was an Easter market in the Waterside Park in the heart of Crayford. The Crayford Community Group arranged some fantastic local entertainment, alongside novelty stalls and a visit from the Easter bunny. With the generous support of local businesses, over 250 chocolate eggs and free arts and craft activities were provided for the many local children who came along with their families to celebrate.
Crayford Community Group are aiming to continue to drive activities and events in Crayford and are focused on bringing the community together while helping local charities and people.
Planning is currently underway for future events including a Christmas celebration later in the year.

Bexley Business & Employment (BBE) continue to support both small businesses to grow and residents to find paid work. In the six months since BBE launched its Talking Business programme, it has provided support and advice to 150 Bexley businesses and has helped 8 local entrepreneurs prepare to start a business, some have also received cash grants to help upskill themselves or their staff.
Furthermore, in 2023, BBE’s employment service engaged with over 2,000 residents to provide employment support and assisted over 500 residents into work.
