Bexley launching a help scheme for budding entrepreneurs and new businesses

On Thursday 9 May, the London Borough of Bexley is launching a new service to provide practical advice, guidance and support to budding entrepreneurs based in the borough.

The ‘Talking Business’ Business Start-Up Support Programme is fully funded and free to anyone who lives, works or studies in the borough or who intends to start their business here.  It is designed to support those just thinking of starting an enterprise or for any new businesses within their first 12 months.

The programme will comprise:

  • start-up workshops – practical interactive sessions covering the A to Z of starting up
  • one-to-one mentoring sessions with expert business advisors
  • start-up business clinics to help business owners overcome challenges
  • networking opportunities to help new entrepreneurs learn from each other

Come along and find out more about this exciting new programme at our virtual launch event which is taking place on 9 May at 11am.  The online event will be hosted by the Leader of Bexley Council, Councillor Baroness O’Neill of Bexley OBE.

The Business Start-up Support Programme is part of Bexley Council’s ‘Talking Business’ programme and is made possible thanks to funding that the London Borough of Bexley has secured through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). The fund sits under the government’s Levelling Up Agenda and aims to make improvements to town centres and high streets and support local businesses.
